2007-2008 FCHS GOALS
Continual Improvement on Standardized Tests - To ensure continued improvement on state standardized tests, teachers will meet together by subject/grade level to determine “essential” curriculum content, develop assessment tools, and identify instructional strategies.
Student Attendance – School attendance of FCHS students will meet or exceed 94%.
Safe & Positive School Environment – Students at FCHS will experience a safe and positive learning environment conducive to academic, social, physical, and cultural growth.

Department Goals 2007-2008 Social Sciences1. Increase opportunities to incorporate community service/volunteerism into the curriculum. 2. Increase the number of opportunities to utilize technology into the curriculum. Special Education1. Incorporate life skills into the curriculum. 2. Increase student attendance among special education students. 3. Increase student involvement in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. 4. Increase interactive learning opportunities. Science1. Meet the Annual Yearly Progress on the PSAE and ACT tests. 2. Increase student interests in sciences. 3. Instill self-discipline and motivation in students. Vocational1. Increase student participation and motivation. 2. Continue articulation agreement with area junior colleges to stay abreast of current curriculum in specific vocational classes. 3. Continue to utilize the district web page to increase communication with the community. Language Arts1. Update current curriculum to meet the writing intensive requirement set forth by the state. 2. Facilitate independent reading. 3. Incorporate writing rubrics across the curriculum. 4. Incorporate free writing into the current curriculum. 5. Utilize outside sources to prepare students for the PSAE and ACT. Mathematics1. Meet the Annual Yearly Progress on the PSAE and ACT tests. 2. Increase the number of opportunities for student use of technology. 3. Improve mathematics curriculum to meet or exceed state standards. Physical Education & HealthStudents will be able to : 1. Plan a healthy lifestyle using good nutrition, proper exercise, and physical fitness. 2. Design a plan for dealing with emergency situations and understand the hazards that might occur. 3. Demonstrate several precautions to avoid possible emergency situations. 4. Recognize and identify diseases of the human body as well as other health issues. Driver's Education 1. Identify all controls in a vehicle as well as being able to use them while driving. 2. Maneuver a vehicle safely in various weather conditions. 3. Understand and use the rules of the road while driving a vehicle.
