Frankfort CUSD #168 notes the passing of Miss Allis Hays, a 1940 graduate of FCHS who, with her identical twin sister Phyllis taught kindergarten at West Frankfort schools from the early 1940s until 1983, passed away February 28 at age 102. Several generations of students had Miss Allis to start their school career.
She and her sister continue to serve their community in the years since their retirement. They helped sponsor a scholarship for FCHS students going into the field of education for over 20 years. Miss Allis Hays left a long and positive legacy for both her students and her fellow teachers. May we all work to meet the standards that she and her late sister set.
Visitation beings at 10 and services are at 11 on Saturday morning, March 8 from at the First Baptist Church in West Frankfort. Arrangements are through Union Funeral Home.

Fun Friday here at Denning!
March Madness minute to win it games were a hit. The kids loved to join in on all the games. Mummy wrap, junk in the trunk, and movin on up games were just a few of those played.

February Leaders of the Month and Academic superstars-These students are working hard to grow and be their best. We love celebrating students who shine! ☀️☀️☀️

Some Friday pick me ups for our Denning Staff. We had Redbirdmart for the teachers today. No bird bucks necessary. We also had donuts brought in for all staff, along with cookies and sweet tea from several parents in the community. A special Thank you to the Morelands for always whipping up awesome snacks for us.

Denning was honored to recognize Chloe Little and Beckam Crites at the Illinois Principal Association's Student Recognition Breakfast this morning.
They were selected for outstanding citizenship, leadership, and academic excellence. You make DES so proud. Keep flying high! We look forward to watching you soar. ♥️

We are beyond excited to celebrate Denning's February MVP staff member, Mrs. Jessica O'Daniel!
She has been such an amazing addition to the DES family. She goes above and beyond to support our staff and students, is always positive, organized, helpful, proactive, and spreads so much sunshine! She shows she cares in so many countless ways. We are beyond grateful for her every single day. ♥️☀️

We had some special visitors today. Mrs. Henson and her Gear Up class came to read to our littles.
They always enjoy when the older kids come and visit. The students get to ask questions and the big kids always have fun answering them. We can't wait until they come back for The Kindness club here at Denning.

Reminder Denning School will dismiss at 2:05 on Friday March 7th

Wacky Wednesday for sure!!!
We really get into our dress up days. ❤️
