On Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. a meeting conducted by the Frankfort CUSD #168 will take place at the Office of Student Services, 508 East Main Street, West Frankfort, IL. The purpose of this meeting will be to discuss the district’s plans for providing special education services to students with disabilities who attend private schools and/or home schools within the district for the 2024-2025 school year. If you are a parent of a home-schooled student who has been or may be identified with a disability and you reside within the boundaries of Frankfort Community School district, you are urged to attend. Congratulations to two of our phenomenal fourth graders who have placed in the Southern Illinois Reading Council Short Story Contest!! Miss Harper Woolard and Miss Anna Slimak have placed FIRST and SECOND respectively in their grade level's competition. Harper and Anna will be honored at an awards ceremony in Carbondale later this month. Way to represent FIS, ladies, we are so proud of you!!

Frankfort Intermediate School's fundraising drive for Z100's Quest for a Million Pennies resulted in a total donation of $2609.57 to St. Jude Children's Hospital!! A huge THANK YOU to all the students at FIS for their generous support and to Mrs. Tanner's 3rd grade class for leading the effort! It's a great day to be a Redbird!!
